Association of Back to Nature Youth and Sports Club has concluded another field study as events of “Eagles Beyond Borders” with project number CB005.2.12.108 with the assistance of the European Union through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme, CCI No 2014TC16I5CB005.
During the field study of exhausting week among Edirne and Kırklareli regions, our crew had visited 27 Imperial Eagles’ nests which were already located at previous field study and accomplish to locate one new eagle’s nest. Our crew is comprised of ornithologists, sociologists, photographers and climbers from Doğa Derneği and young volunteers from Kırklareli University Mountainair Club. In order to preserve the livehoods of globally threatened Imperial Eagle, our crew visited owner’s of trees with breeding Imperial Eagle’s
nests. It was very inspiring for nature friends and protectors to see the interest and attention of local people of the region. Another important event of the project is to place artificial nests to suitable trees into
the habitats of Imperial Eagle. After a very hardwotk of finding the suitable trees, our crew visited the tree owners and necessary permissions and promises are taken in order to guarantee safe spaces for eagles. As our crew visited villagers, they’ve also given the information about benefits of Imperial Eagles to agricultural activities. The posters of the project are put on public places of villages and villagers are given leaflets about eagles for
further information. Among the many good advices of villagers, our crew has made their decision for a suitable tree to put the artificial nest. Now, the nest is waiting for its Imperial
Eagle.

Sınırların Ötesinde Kartallar Projesi
Nesli dünya ölçeğinde tehlike altında olan şah kartal “Aquila Heliaca“, Güneydoğu Avrupa’dan, Orta ve Batı Asya’ya kadar geniş yayılış gösteren yırtıcı bir kuş türdür. Popülasyonunun büyük çoğunluğu göçmen olan şah kartallar, yuva yaptıkları alanların tahrip edilmesi, zirai zehirler, elektrik hatlarının yoğunluğu gibi tehditlerle karşı karşıya. Bu tehditler sah kartalların ölümlerine ve yaşam alanlarının daralmasına sebep olmaktadır.
Doğaya Dönüş Derneği, “Sınırların Ötesinde Kartallar Projesi” ile Trakya’daki şah kartal yuvalarının izlenmesi ve şah kartalların karşı karşıya olduğu tehditlerin ortadan kaldırılması için çalışmalarına başladı.
